Adopt-a-pet: Coo-Bear, Peanut and friend


Coo-Bear, Peanut and friend
     This week’s pets include Coo-Bear, a sweet 1-year-old black and tan female Chihuahua mix, and Peanut, a cute 1-year-old black, brown and white domestic short haired tabby who is already neutered and ready for a new home. To adopt either of these pets, contact Animal Friends of the Valleys at 674-0618 and ask for intake number 22558 for Coo-Bear or 31000 for Peanut. Also available but unnamed is an unspayed, 3-month old female, black, brown and white shepherd mix with an intake number of 38221.
     AFV serves the communities of Canyon Lake, Lake Elsinore, Murrieta and Temecula, offering animals for adoption as well as providing animal control services to those cities. The shelter is located at 29001 Bastron St. in Lake Elsinore, and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. AFV always welcomes donations of bagged dog and cat food, blankets, towels and other pet supplies as well as those wishing to volunteer their time.

Half-price adoption special
     In recognition of Spay Day USA on February 24, AFV will be offering half-price adoption fees Monday, February 23 through Saturday, February 28. All adoptions include a microchip, vaccination, collar, leash or cat carrier and a free vet check. Adoption fees do not include any applicable spay or neuter fees. Half-price adoptions are also available every Wednesday.
