Activities Manager
Thank you to all the club presidents who have submitted their requirements for club sanctioning already. If you have not done it yet, please submit to me by March 6. All sanctioned clubs must meet the community service and residency standards as set forth in the rules. In an effort to maintain current records, each club president is required to forward the name, address and phone numbers of club officers, as well as current membership and residency location and community service verification to the Canyon Lake Recreation Department.
Club facility reservations
Club facility reservations for 2010 are now being accepted. Reservations should be made before March 31, because on April 1 reservations will be accepted for private events.
Senior Center
For those of you who don’t know, the Senior Center is just inside the Main Gate. There are a variety of activities going on there. You can see them listed in the Senior section on Page A-9.
Ellen Iacono, who has been active at the Senior Center since it began, is considering starting a class to teach people how to crochet. She makes great purses with plastic “grocery bags” and will be teaching how to make the purses for those who know how to crochet. If you are interested in learning to crochet or to make the purses, please call me at 246-1761. We need to know if there is an interest and what day and time would work for you. Also, if you know how to crochet and would be interested in helping Ellen with this class, that would be a great help.
If you have another talent that you would be interested in teaching to the community please call me and share your ideas. This year 2009 is going to be a wonderful, activity-driven year, filled with many fun events. Come out and be a part of your community.
