Photographer and Canyon Lake resident Beverly Miller says she often rides one of two horses she keeps at the Equestrian Center in the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) country behind Canyon Lake. Here, the ears of her Rocky Mountain horse, Chocolate, point the way to the San Jacinto River, where it flows into the North Ski Area and Main Lake. Beverly says it's a great place to ride, especially when the hills are green and flowers are blooming. She has seen coyotes, jack rabbits, birds and a couple of rattlesnakes.
