Reporter, The Friday Flyer For Brittany Walda, the dream seeds and inspiration for owning a salon and spa were planted at the young age of 15. She recently fulfilled her dream when she opened the new Beauty By Bee Salon and Spa, located inside Canyon Fitness Center. As a teen, Brittany worked in a beauty supply store and enjoyed being able to help customers find the products that suited their needs. She liked the feelings she experienced when the grateful customers would return and thank her for her recommendations. Her interest in the skin care and beauty industry eventually took her to the Paul Mitchell Skin Academy in Costa Mesa, followed by a year of training at the Make-up Designery (MUD), located in Burbank. Since that time, she has received many other certificates and licenses from establishments such as the International Dermal Institute and others. Brittany has been as "busy as a bee" this year, not only opening her new salon in mid-July but also with her wedding in May to David Walda, a resident of Canyon Lake for the past four years. The couple met in Orange County, which is where Brittany grew up and lived prior to moving to Canyon Lake a year ago. David has become an afternoon fixture at the salon, where he can be seen hanging out after work and filling in as a "front desk assistant." Like the salon's clients, David likes the pampering he receives at Beauty By Bee, which, in addition to Brittany, is staffed by six master stylists and a nail technician. Brittany began her business in Menifee prior to finding the Canyon Lake location, which was a perfect match for the vision she had for her business. She wanted to cater to Canyon Lake clientele and also offer spa services, so the location on the second floor adjacent to the women's locker room at Canyon Fitness Center was a perfect match. She now offers a wide array of services, including use of the sauna, spa and showers. ÊA second level parking lot is also available offering easy access for her clients. Beauty By Bee clients enjoy a plethora of beauty and spa services. Nail technician Jamey Honeycutt offers a wide variety of nail care services and pedicures, including the long lasting Shellac color application.ÊMassages are available, ranging from customized massages to Swedish, deep tissue, sport, prenatal and hot stone massages, performed by Massage Therapist Tyler Gill. Skin care services performed by Brittany include facials for gentlemen as well as ladies, acne treatments for all ages, anti-aging treatments, crystal-free microdermabrasion, beta hydroxy peels, glycolic peels as well as eye, hand or lip treatments. One of the newest skin care treatments offered at Beauty By Bee is the 24 karat gold facial. According to Brittany, gold acts as a healing agent for the skin. Brittany also offers professional make-up application and is available for engagement photos, brides and their bridesmaids. The six master hair stylists include Tameny Chase, Kim Walters, Jennifer Cordts, Carrie Turner and Carissa Buffington. These stylists provide hair care services for women, children and men. Services include cut, styling, color, highlights, color correction, hair extensions and the very popular Brazilian blowout, which is a process that creates silky soft straight hair and is popular with women who have curly or frizzy hair. Rounding out the array of beauty services are lash extensions, fills and tinting, as well as brow services, including tinting, shaping and waxing. Body waxing services also are offered for the nose, lip, chin, face, arms, chest, back, legs and bikini area. For those looking for a full day spa relaxation experience, Beauty By Bee offers a “Day of Beauty,” which includes three treatments and use of the sauna, spa and showers. A variety of discounts are offered, including a 15 percent discount for CFC members and a 30 percent discount off the first service.
