Submission deadline
     Clubs are invited to submit information and photos to news@goldingpublications.com, fax them to 244-2748 or bring them to The Friday Flyer, 31558 Railroad Canyon Rd. in the Towne Center. News is due by Tuesday at noon; however, earlier submissions by Monday are appreciated.

Travel Club
     Tonight, starting at 6 p.m., the Travel Club’s fall dinner-dance, “All American Picnic,” will be poolside at the Lodge.
     A trip to the Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is scheduled for November 18. Cost is $58 for members and $63 for guests and includes a three-course meal at the famous Anaheim White House restaurant. For more information, contact Travis or Valerie Montgomery at 244-5193.

Triathlon Club
     This month’s Triathlon Club meeting has been changed. It will meet one day later on September 15 at 7 p.m. at Holiday Harbor. The club has a Facebook page under the name CanyonLake TriathlonClub.

Jr. Women’s Club
     The Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club (JWC) recently held its first meeting of the year. Anyone who would like more information on the JWC, or anyone considering joining the club may e-mail the club at lakejwc@gmail.com.

Motorcycle Club
     The next ride is the Animal Friends of the Valleys “Poker Run” tomorrow, September 11, at 8 a.m. in Temecula to raise funds for the new animal shelter. Everyone is welcome.
     Monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. with dinner and fellowship. The club recently made a donation to the City of Canyon Lake for the Veterans Memorial site and a donation to the City of Canyon Lake for the Child Safety Program.

Woman’s Club
     The next lunch meeting will be September 15 at 10 a.m. at the Lodge. The program will feature the “Girls Against Abuse” musical group. Their musical campaign supports charities that help women recognize, resist and recover from abuse.
     The price of the lunch is $13, to be paid by check only. On the menu is Chicken Marsala, rice pilaf, green beans, fresh fruit, green salad, rolls and butter and lemon meringue pie.

     The Canyon Lake Woman’s Club is a non-profit, non-partisan philanthropic service organization dedicated to the enrichment of Canyon Lake and helping others less fortunate. For more information call Lana Jenkin at 244-8973.

Tennis Club
     The Tennis Club will have two events in September. The Progressive Dinner Party will be held Saturday, September 11, at 5 p.m. Cost to participate is $15 per person. For more information, contact Marga Kidd at 442-4538 or mikesmarga@yahoo.com.
     The Evening Tennis Mixer tournament and barbecue will be Saturday, September 18, at 5 p.m. Cost to participate in the tournament is $10 per person, and the deadline to enter is Wednesday, September 15. To sign up, contact Devlin Fillmore at 660-9214.

Torah Club 
     The Torah Club will be hosting the following High Holiday Services: 
     Friday, September 10, 9:30 a.m., Rosh Hashana Day 2 at the Canyon Lake Lodge.
     Friday, September 17, 7 p.m., Yom Kippur (Kol Nidrei) at Blue Bird Hall.

Cotillion

CLAWS
     All Canyon Lake women are invited to attend the Canyon Lake Association of Women (CLAWS) Group Bunco on the second Wednesday of the month at 3 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Country Club. Twirlers Square Dance Club
     The Twirlers Square Dance Club will be starting a new class on Wednesday, September 15. The beginning square dance class is held every Wednesday from 7 to 8:15 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the Lodge. Classes are $5 each week for individuals, $10 for families and the first night is free. Classes are open to residents and non-residents. For more information, call 679-6728.
     A plus-level workshop is held from 6:15 to 7 p.m. and a dance-level workshop is held from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Regular club dances are held on the second Sunday of each month in the Holiday Bay Room.
     Led by Diana Gallagher, beginner line dance class is held every Tuesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the City Multi-purpose Room. All ages are welcome. A beginning to intermediate line dance class is offered Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room. Each class is $4.

Car Club
     The Car Club holds monthly meetings the first Thursday of each month at the Lodge, with the next scheduled for October 7. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the general meeting at 6:30 p.m. Learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences. Bible Fellowship
     Canyon Lake Bible Fellowship now meets the first and third Friday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Lodge. Attendees enjoy the neighborly fellowship and life-changing message by Pastor Rick Schutte, associate pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship (harvest.org).
     There is a “Kid’s Korner” for children after the praise and worship session and prior to the message, so they can enjoy age-related stories, singing and craft projects.
     The group’s meetings are open to everyone. The club is involved with outreach opportunities inside and outside the community. Its goal is to come together in fellowship and restore hope through God’s word. For more information, call 244-2438 or 757-6146.

Roadrunners
     Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lodge. Social hour begins at 5; dinner and meeting begin at 6. Residents who enjoy the RV life are encouraged to join as members. For more information, call John Sullivan at 244-4626.

Chair Volleyball
     The Chair Volleyball Club meets Tuesday and Friday at 9:45 a.m. in the Holiday Bay Room. Canyon Lake seniors are welcome to come and get some exercise while playing this energetic game. Pinochle Club
     New members are welcomed to join the Pinochle Club, which plays every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Towne Center Conference Room. For more information, call Hal Funk at 244-3216 or Marlys Shilling at 244-4241.

Yacht Club
     Meetings of the Yacht Club are held on the fourth Thursday of the month. Boat ownership is not a criterion for membership. Members enjoy fun events throughout the year, including the moonlight cruise, progressive dinner, Oktoberfest, lake cleanup and more. For more information, contact Kathy Bacon at 246-9968.

Street Carts
     Street Carts of Canyon Lake raises money through fun events to help local families in need. For more information, contact Mike Shroyer at 244-6461.

Bosom Buddies
     The Bosom Buddies mission is to educate, inspire and support newly diagnosed breast cancer patients during their breast cancer journey.
