Senator Bill Emmerson
 
Chamber Notes

     State Senator Bill Emmerson will be the keynote speaker at the September 8 Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Mr. Emmerson was elected to the California State Senate in June 2010 after serving in the California State Assembly for six years. Prior to his most recent involvement in politics, he practiced orthodontics in Hemet for 26 years. This will be Senator Emmerson’s first visit with the Chamber.
     “The luncheon would be a great opportunity for business owners to come and meet the senator,” says Chamber Director Lee Clark. All residents are welcome; however, reservations are required by Monday, September 6, by calling the Chamber office at 244-6124. The cost of lunch is $13.

Chamber cruise
     The annual Chamber Cruise to Mexico will be held September 5 to 12. For more information, contact Melissa Ochoa at Canyon Lake Travel, 244-1832.

Scholarship Pageant
     The Miss Canyon Lake Scholarship Pageant will be held Saturday, September 18, at 2:30 p.m., at Canyon Lake Middle School. Pageant tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students. The talent portion will be held on Monday, September 13, at 4 p.m., at the Lodge. The cost is $10. Tickets are available at the Chamber office. To learn more, contact Coco Morrison at 204-7777.

Chamber mixer
     The September mixer will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, at Auto Care USA. Bring a door prize and network with other businesses.
     Ribbon cutting for Today's Attic
     Owner Shellie Harmond invites everyone to the ribbon cutting for her new business, Today’s Attic, located in the Towne Center at 31610 Railroad Canyon Rd., on Friday, September 17, at 1 p.m.

American flags
     The Chamber encourages all businesses to fly the American flag and has a supply of flags for purchase. “Flying the American flag is a great way for your customers to know you’re open for business, as well as showing your patriotism,” says Lee.

Vendor opportunity
     Businesses are invited to mark their calendars for the Parade of Frights on October 30 (booths available) and the Tree Lighting in the Towne Center on December 10. To purchase a flag, or for more information about upcoming events, contact the Chamber office at 244-6124.
