Letter: Senior softball

I really enjoy reading about the Menifee Senior League (The Friday Flyer, August 27). I played with Rex Finley and in the league from 1995 until I left California in 2002. I played with Rex (one of the finest gentleman I have ever met on or off the field) and I was the one responsible to get Dennis McCoy to play senior softball.
I played with the young bucks until 2002 and I was the oldest to play at Gault Field then. Dennis was very hesitant, but after his first tournament he was hooked (he thought it would be like wheelchair ball LOL).
Anyway, enjoy it and I have a good time while your bones last. I admired Rex so much; he played with a cousin of mine, Bill Tincup, in the World Series one year. Give him and Dennis my best and I sure do miss the game up here in Oregon, where there is no senior ball.
