Submissions
     Clubs are invited to submit information and photos to news@goldingpublications.com, fax them to 244-2748 or bring them to The Friday Flyer, 31558 Railroad Canyon Rd. in the Towne Center. News is due by Tuesday at noon; however, earlier submissions by Monday are appreciated.

Men’s Golf Club
     The Canyon Lake Men’s Golf Club will host the 2010 Paradise Classic Member/Guest Tournament on Friday, September 17, and Saturday, September 18. Signup sheets and event flyers are available at the Country Club or clgolf.org.
     The Men’s Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) and holds regular open meetings the first Wednesday of each month in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club. For membership information, contact Bruce Yarbrough at 244-8753.

Women’s Golf Club
     The Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Clubs ‘Back to School’ Jack and Jill is scheduled for September 25. Foursomes should sign up at the Country Club by September 19. Lunch and prizes are included in the day’s fun for the $35 per player fee. Contact Tournament Directors Maxine Whalen at 244-6333 or Linda Johnson at 244-8852 for additional information.
     The Women’s Golf Club meets regularly on Tuesdays to play 18 holes of golf. CLWGC is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association, which is responsible for handicapping services for the members. Applications are available in the Pro Shop. Couples Twilight Golf
     All golfers who are members of Women’s Golf Club, Men’s Golf Club, Family Golf Club and 9ers Golf Club are invited to play Couples Twilight Golf every other Friday at 4 p.m. The ongoing golf event is sponsored by the Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club and provides a fun format that allows couples to play golf together in a casual atmosphere. Golf is followed by a catered dinner at Roadrunner Park.

9ers Golf Club
     The 9ers Golf Club plays nine holes on Thursday mornings. All beginner and advanced golfers as well as new members are welcome. The 9ers Golf Club is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. Michelle’s Place tourney
     Michelle’s Place, a breast cancer resource center, is accepting registrations for its 9th Annual “Celebration of Life” golf tournament on Friday, October 1, at the Golf Club at Rancho California (formerly SCGA). Registration is $125 per golfer and includes golf, goodie bag and a barbecue. Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 7 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8. Every golfer who registers will receive a free four-day ticket to the Soboba Golf Classic, part of the PGA Nationwide Tour, which begins September 27. Family Golf Club
     The Family Golf Club would like to thank the participants, sponsors, tournament staff, Pro Shop staff and those that made donations for prizes for making the inaugural Members Tournament a great success. Sixty-six players – 33 teams – played the two-day shotgun event on August 28 and August 29 in three different flights.  According to organizers, the Country Club staff provided a great dinner on Saturday night and awards were presented on Sunday evening.
     The Club would like to thank Title Sponsor Canyon Lake Insurance and the following Tee Sponsors: Inland Valley Home Loans, Prestige Golf Carts, Hansen-McCoy Investment Group, Karen Braddock of Coldwell Banker, MBC Mattress Co, Shelton’s Golf Cars, Auto Care USA, Amato’s, Cal-Kool, Jon Keigwin of AquaPro, Greg’s Painting, Joe and Carmel Lemke and Sandy Geer of Farmer’s Insurance.

     The winners were as follows:

     The Family Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) and the Interstate Golf Association (IGA) and holds open meetings the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club.
