Adopt-A-Pet: Freckles and Mama

     This week’s pets are Freckles and Mama. Freckles is a female tri-colored 9-month-old cattledog/sharpei mix. She’s already spayed and would make a wonderful house pet. Mama is a pretty 5-year-old calico female. She’s already spayed and ready to go. To adopt either of these pets, contact Animal Friends of the Valleys at 674-0618 and ask for intake number 29759 for Freckles or 29694 for Mama. Adoptions are half off everyday for seniors (age 60-plus) who adopt senior pets (age 5-plus).
     Animal Friends of the Valleys is running low on canned food for dogs and cats. The canned food is needed for the puppies, kittens and older dogs and cats that are being brought to the shelter in high numbers. The canned food is easier on tummies and easier to chew.
     Residents can help save animals that would otherwise be put down by providing temporary housing. Information regarding the foster program, including an application and guidelines, can be found at the website.
     AFV serves Canyon Lake and surrounding areas, offering animals for adoption as well as providing animal control services.
