Outage teaches lessons about preparedness
I recall one particular summer night about 10 years ago when I was having trouble getting my teenagers to come to dinner. The table was set on our lake view deck, but dinner was getting cold while they were engrossed in activities like watching TV, playing on the computer or playing video games. Though I had called downstairs several times there were no teenagers in view.

Movie Reviews by Reel People: 'Contagion'
We’ve all seen and heard the “movie cough of death.” You know, when a cast member coughs three times out of context and is immediately diagnosed with a fatal disease. Our community has always been known for its patriotism. It is instilled, to some degree, in all ages of Canyon Lakers through parenting, education of U.S. history or living in a time of great historical events. At times, however, this instilled patriotism is mostly displayed by those in their more mature or senior years. Perhaps it is because they have lived through more of the trying times that have made this country great – plus, they are unabashed in showing their pride in the USA.
